The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the State of Israel (MOST) have jointly announced a research initiative to support collaborative research projects in two critical areas – AI applications in climate change and agriculture for food security.

The initiative aims to provide financial support to researchers from both countries to address the challenges in these areas through the development of AI-based solutions.

AI Applications in Climate Change

Climate change is a global challenge that is becoming increasingly evident. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a potential solution to tackle these challenges.

AI-based tools can help in predicting climate change, monitoring the impact of human activities on the environment, and identifying opportunities for mitigation and adaptation.

The DST and MOST collaboration aims to support research projects that utilize AI to address climate change challenges, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy sources, and enhancing the resilience of ecosystems

Agriculture for Food Security

Ensuring food security is a significant challenge, especially with the growing global population. The development of AI-based tools and technologies can help in enhancing crop yields, reducing food waste, and improving the efficiency of agricultural practices.

The DST and MOST collaboration aim to support research projects that utilize AI to address challenges in agriculture for food security.

Joint Research Proposals

The joint initiative invites researchers from India and Israel to submit joint research proposals focusing on the development of AI-based solutions for the challenges in the areas of climate change and food security.

The financial support provided by the initiative will help in the development of innovative research projects that can make a significant impact in addressing the challenges of climate change and food security.

The joint initiative by DST and MOST provides an excellent opportunity for Indian and Israeli researchers to collaborate and contribute towards the development of AI-based solutions for critical global challenges.

With the financial support provided by the initiative, the research projects have the potential to make a significant impact in addressing the global challenges of climate change and food security.
