The University of Luxembourg is looking for its Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Mathematics (Statistics) (m/f). The position is funded by the ERA Chair SanDALin Mathematical Statistics and Data Science.

The University of Luxembourg has recently been awarded a prestigious ERA (European Research Area) Chair grant under the EU’s Horizon 2020 framework programme. With a budget of 2.5 million euros for the period 2019-2024, the university will create a high-level research group in mathematical statistics and data science. It is the very first time that this prize is given to a Luxembourg institution.
Post-Doctoral Fellow in Mathematics
- Research related to Mathematical Statistics and Machine Learning
- Contribute to setting up an internationally competitive research team in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Luxembourg
- The candidate is expected to take part in the scientific activities (seminars, colloquia, schools) that are organized within Y. Baraud’s group and the Research Unit in Mathematics of Luxembourg University.

Requirements for Post-Doctoral Fellow in Mathematics
- A high-quality PhD in Mathematics
- Solid knowledge of Probability Theory and Statistics
- A taste for the theory of Mathematical Statistics or its applications to Life Sciences and Industry
- Dedication to doing Mathematics at a research level
- Good written and oral skills in English
